After applying Bona Chroma Caramel to this new 2¼" Red Oak, the client realized the natural red undertones were pulling way stronger than expected. She was ready to bite the bullet, pay for a complete re-sand, and push the project timeline back.
Instead of stripping it all down, we tested a smarter fix.
We prepped a sample area and tinted our sealer and topcoats using a Bona Chroma shade packed with cool green and grey undertones. By using complementary color theory directly in the finish build, we neutralized the heavy red warmth and dialed in the exact balanced, earthy tone she was after.
