Who this page is for
Commercial hardwood in Huntsville is the same trade as the residential work: sand-and-finish, new hardwood install, stairs that match the floor. The people who call are often a GC on a tenant finish, a property manager with worn oak in a lobby, or an architect specifying hardwood instead of a vinyl plank package.
Niches we take as hardwood jobs — not as a vinyl catalog — include restaurant dining rooms, offices, churches, medical or dental lobbies, and manufacturing facilities. Hardwood only. We do not install LVP, vinyl, carpet, or laminate on a commercial floor any more than we do in a house. More on refinish hardwood or replace it with LVP.

Dust-contained sanding in an occupied building
Most of our sand-and-finish work is already in a building people are still using. Dust-contained sanding is that method: professional, high-efficiency extraction so sanding dust stays out of the air, ductwork, and furniture. Rooms we are not sanding stay usable. It is virtually dustless — not a promise of zero dust, and not the Dustless Hardwood Refinishing brand.
We walk the schedule through on the free on-site visit so an occupied office, church hall, or restaurant can plan around the job. Containment is the same high-efficiency extraction we already run — we do not add a separate equipment list for commercial work. Staff and congregants stay out of the work area while we sand and while finish cures. The hardwood sand-and-finish process is the same sequence: consult, prep, sand, stain, coat, walkthrough.
Unfinished hardwood and stair parts as job supply
Commercial installs get the same supply as residential: unfinished solid hardwood, unfinished engineered hardwood, and stair parts — treads, risers, skirt boards, and transitions. We install it and sand-and-finish on site when the job calls for it. Prefinished hardwood remains an option when that is the right call. Not a showroom. No inventory list, brands, or prices on the site.
Stairs in a foyer or sanctuary get color-matched to the adjoining floor — custom hardwood stairs, not a vinyl nosing. If existing boards can take another sand, we refinish. If they cannot, we install new hardwood. We do not replace commercial oak with LVP.
Rubio 0% VOC or Bona Traffic HD low-VOC GREENGUARD Gold
Two finish systems, two indoor-air claims — kept separate. We're the only hardwood company in North Alabama using Rubio Monocoat®. Rubio Monocoat® Oil Plus 2C is advertised as a 0% VOC hardwax oil: natural color and protection in one coat, with no water or solvents in the product.
We use Bona Chroma® color systems in North Alabama. Jobs that call for a film-build color system use Bona Chroma® stain, often with Bona Traffic HD — a waterborne, low-VOC professional finish that is GREENGUARD Gold certified. That GREENGUARD Gold label is on the Bona product, not a company-wide certification for Alabama Hardwood Restoration, and not a Rubio claim. Two different systems. We pick one. We sample on your boards.
We do not install LVP on commercial jobs
We're a hardwood company. LVP, vinyl, carpet, and laminate aren't what we install. A showroom that also sells vinyl is a different business. Hardwood install and sand-and-finish. No LVP, vinyl, carpet, or laminate. No screen-and-recoat. No cabinets. A showroom package for a tenant finish often leads with vinyl plank. That is a different truck. If the oak in the lobby can take another sand, refinish it. If a dining room or nave never had hardwood, we install hardwood — unfinished solid, unfinished engineered, or prefinished — not LVP.
